Vertex Features

Use Vertex Features to add detail just where you need it. Vertex Features is especially useful for adding polygons before using Displacement so the knots, scars, and roots you create stand-out, even on lower resolution models.

Note: Vertex Features edits will remain regardless of changes to the model’s resolution.

How to Use Vertex Features

Follow these steps to get started with bending.

  • In Freehand Mode, select the node you are working on, then Vertex Features. The Vertex Features brush will appear on your tree.

  • Drag the outer ring to adjust brush size.
  • Drag the inner ring to adjust brush falloff.
  • Drag the blue dot along the adjacent bar to adjust brush strength.
  • Hold “Space” + left-click to begin painting vertices
  • To change the area’s polygonal density, go to Generator Mode > Segments > (Features) Freehand: Density.
