======Set up a Projector====== Add a Projector to the model and define what details it projects and what generators it projects onto. Learn more about [[introduction_to_projectors|Projectors]]. =====Prerequisites===== * At least one [[base_generator|Base generator]] with one or more child nodes. The child nodes are the details that project onto the model. * At least one target generator to cast details onto (for example, a Trunk generator). Add the Base and target generators to the model like you [[manage-generators|add other generators]]. =====Add a Projector===== To add a Projector: - From the Tree Window Toolbar, select **Scene Objects** > **Projectors** > **Add Projector**. - Select the Projector type. To position the Projector, move or rotate the Projector scene object like any other scene object. =====Use a Projector on the model===== To use a Projector on the model: - Select the Projector scene object to open the [[projector_generator|Projector properties]]. - Under **Target Generators**, select one or more generators you want to project details onto. - Under **Base Generators**, select one or more Base generators to represent the Projector in the generation hierarchy. - Edit attributes in the Projector properties and Base generator properties to change the projection pattern. >**Important**: The Base generators must be in a later pass than the target generators. For example, if the target generators are in pass 2, the Base generators must be in pass 3 or above.
